Imphandling impressively improved!

On the raid we first killed the Omnotron Defense System we spent more than an hour wiping and figuring out the Maloriak encounter. Today we went back, and on the first attempt, which was supposed to be the “lets learn the tactics”-attempt for the 2 people that hadn’t seen the encounter, we killed him! We were all a bit surprised, especially the two that couldnt understand why we had ever wiped on such an easy boss. We had to convince them it was all the practise we had put in the previous raid that made it possible. Nevertheless we went away feeling this boss will be a pushover every week! Time will tell if we are right.

Edit: Turns out the adds are in fact not imps, but changing the title is practically impossible so it will remain as proof of my impotence.

Omnomnom!

Omnotron Defense System we had heard was going to be the easiest encounter of the the Cataclysm raids. We did manage to learn and down the fight in about an hour, but didn’t really walk away thinking it was the easiest we had seen so far. In a rush to the next boss we forgot to screenshot the kill, as we have every time so far this expansion. I did an attempt to make a bosskill picture, but i have to admit this is probably the worst picture so far. And i suppose that is saying a lot!

Wormfood!

Today’s raid went to Blackwing Descent where we had unexpected difficulties getting down one of the first 2 bosses. We ended up spending the whole raidtime on getting overwhelmed by parasites, until we suddenly just did it without difficulties with 15 mins raidtime to go. We even got the achievement! Practise makes perfect as they say. For those that havent seen Magmaw we screenshotted the encounter and posted it below.

And the raiding has begun!

The first place we visited is Bastion of Twilight. The first two bosses we have killed twice now, since we actually had the first raid last week even though it wasn’t documented on the website. This week we spent a few hours wiping on the 3rd encounter, and after 3 tries where we wiped with less than 100k to go we finally got the third phase down, with only Lumines alive in the end. We were too excited to screenshot the event but the art department (me) have sketched up quite accurate mugshots of the Ascendant Council. Cho’gall next!! Well, maybe we will go to the other raids and look first. Cho’gall at some point quite soon!!

Merry Christmas!

In the middle of Cataclysm we have Christmas, which all peons celebrate by redoing all the achievements and quests related to Winter Veil on all their alts. That last bit is possibly a lie, but i already got my gifts so i don’t have to be good anymore this year!

In the spirit of the holiday the person to first reply to this post with the approximate location of the critter below will win a small price in game!

Merry Christmas everyone!!

Happy Cataclysmday!

One and a half hour until midnight and the start of Cataclysm! No more Dalaran lagging, no more being annoyed we cant fly in Azeroth, no more pugging (?); just a whole lot of new stuff… on old maps… that look new! Some peons will be playing through the night and have bunked up with snacks, drinks, bacon and babywipes.

Soon the waiting is over. Cya all on the way to 85!

Valley of Mounts

We finally got round to finishing off the achievement for Glory of the Icecrown Raider. Sindragosa was the last achievement we hadn’t already completed and we did fail a few times before we got it right. We decided to screenshot the mounts instead of me drawing them, and we chose the most relevant location to do so.

Grats on the mounts everyone!

Guildparty 2010

The 3rd annual guildparty was held at a secret location in Sweden at 31st of July. Peons arrived from several countries to take part and stayed for days. The week offered lots of food, drink, and laser guns amongst other things. New for this year was that the nail painting of previous seasons got replaced with more masculine activities such as… bowling! Most of the time was fun and laughs but naturally some drama creeped in, see below the result of Renzuken’s watermelon attack on a sleeping Pest.

This led to Saerdon ending the night with speedeating the melon before it would go bad as it didnt fit in the refridgerator.

Pulling an Angry Dragon!

After clearing 8 heroic bosses in the Thursday raid, we decided the Sunday raid should go to Sindragosa and stay there until she was dead. We hadnt had much raidtime on this hardmode before so it seemed reasonable to dedicate a full raid. Looking at the signups we had only one caster and Luria cleverly decided to go as feral on Marzanna, to not have any caster at all to only get 1 Unchained Magic debuff in the raid. Turned out that what worked in February (when we went with full melee/hunter dps groups every week) didn’t work anymore. Healers get 2 debuffs now if there is no casters. That didn’t work, so Superted and Marzanna relogged to warlock and moonkin. After this annoying start, which we blame Pest for, we had a few alright attempts until we suddenly broke her down.

Now we just have to do this every week to start practising the Lich King heroic mode… yay…

Observe: The picture above is not actually a screenshot from WoW but rather an artistic interpretation of the boss in question.

Balls to the walls!

Certainly the most annoying heroic mode in ICC so far, but after being pushed around, literally, for almost 2 hours we had learned the fight and finally we blew down the house over the three little piggies. The last few attempts we really felt like we were in control but this heroicmode we might skip some weeks. There is a pretty loot or two to get but the encounter is a real ball ache.

Not an accurate screenshot but close enough.

Good News Everyone!

We went to Putricide and knocked him over. It didnt even take us that many attempts, as soon as we handled the disease well we got him. We had some raidtime left to try the princes and even if the fight is annoying we will probably kill them next time we’re in there. Then we’ll only have Sindragosa and Lich King left!

Hardon Peons!

The third raidnight we ventured into Plagueworks to see if we could wreak some havoc. The hardmodes of Rotface and Festergut we didnt find that difficult to figure out. The success was possibly due to some raidmembers being extra focused and even resorting to using real life smell effects to really get into the bossfights. After pushing over the brothers we went up to the professor and attempted to learn that hardmode too. We ended up killing him on normal mode but went away with valuable experience for next weeks attempts.

8/12 down, only Professor Putricide, Blood Prince Council, Sindragosa and Lich King left on hardmode! Not bad for the first week. Above is a fairly accurate depiction of the bosses killed.
